The refusal of the Baltic States and Poland to participate in the Russian-Belarusian Zapad-2025 exercises is a mistake. This was announced on September 16 by Deputy of the Latvian Parliament Alexey Roslikov.

According to him, the United States is present at the exercises as friendly observers. He also noted the arrival of Turkey, Hungary and 20 other countries.

"Latvia, Lithuania and Poland refused to go! It is a very deep mistake to ignore diplomacy and the opportunity to level the tension even before the point of explosion," Roslikov wrote on the Telegram channel.

The maneuvers will take place at the training grounds of both countries, as well as in the waters of the Baltic and Barents Seas.

Zapad-2025 exercises are held from September 12 to September 16. Poland has closed its border with Belarus because of them. On September 15, the Belarusian Defense Ministry announced that the US military had attended the Zapad-2025 exercises. In addition, representatives of 23 countries also took part in the exercises, including three from NATO countries — the United States, Turkey and Hungary.

On September 16, The Times newspaper reported on the dispatch of 65 Indian military personnel to participate in the Zapad-2025 exercises. It was clarified that one of the most revered units, the Kumaon Regiment, was also sent.
