Kravtsov did not rule out an increase in teachers' salaries in Russia
In Russia, it is possible to increase salaries for teachers. This was announced on September 16 by the head of the Ministry of Education, Sergey Kravtsov, on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (WEF 2025).
"Salaries should be clear and transparent, and there should be no such distortions as there are now. And I do not rule out that there will be a salary increase," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Kravtsov noted that the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor monitor that teachers' salaries are not lower than the average in the region.
"Accordingly, depending on how the average salary in the region is growing, the teacher's salary is growing," he explained.
On September 13, deputies of the LDPR faction in the State Duma, led by Leonid Slutsky, proposed raising salaries for full-time teachers to at least one and a half average salaries in the region. According to the authors of the initiative, this will be an important step in the implementation of the national policy of teacher support, because the guaranteed salary level of one and a half times the average salary in the region meets the social expectations of society.
