After the airport reopened in Krasnodar, interest in booking hotels and apartments in the city has tripled. This was reported to Izvestia on September 15 in the online booking service Ostrovok.

They noted that the opening of the air harbor will stimulate the tourist flow to the Crimea and the resorts of the Kuban during the velvet season.

According to the service, Krasnodar is entering the top 10 most popular travel destinations this fall. At the same time, Krasnodar is in the top three among the Kuban regions, immediately after the popular resorts of Sochi and Sirius, ahead of other beach and ski destinations such as Gelendzhik, Anapa, Novorossiysk and Krasnaya Polyana.

Tourists most often come to the capital of the Krasnodar Territory in pairs — bookings for two adults without children account for 52% this fall. Every fourth tourist travels alone (the share of solo bookings is 25%).

"The average cost of a night in hotels and apartments in Krasnodar remains one of the lowest in the country and minimal compared to other destinations in Kuban. If the average figure in Russia is 5.4 thousand rubles per night, then in Krasnodar travelers pay an average of 3.9 thousand rubles," the service said in a statement.

Krasnodar is popular with tourists not only as a transit city on the way to the Black Sea and Azov resorts, but also as a destination for weekend trips, said Daria Kochetkova, Managing Director of Ostrovok. People come here for picturesque parks, a comfortable climate, especially in autumn, and gastronomic experiences.

"The launch of the airport radically changes the logistics map of the southern region. It will become a convenient alternative to the busy airports of Sochi, Gelendzhik and Mineralnye Vody. This will reduce travel time and costs on the way to Crimea and the beach resorts of the Krasnodar Territory. In addition, the opening of the airport will add opportunities for outbound tourism — flights from Krasnodar to Istanbul, Antalya, and Yerevan are already planned," Daria Kochetkova explained.

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced that Krasnodar airport will be open for flight service from 9:00 a.m. Moscow time on September 11. The agency recalled that it had not operated flights since the end of February 2022 for security reasons. Later, Aeroflot launched ticket sales for flights to Krasnodar from Moscow and other regions of Russia.
