The heating season has started in the Trans-Baikal Territory. On Monday, September 15, batteries were switched on in 32 municipalities, Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the regional government Alexei Goncharov said during an operational meeting.

"In Chita, the start of the heating period is scheduled for September 17, in the village of Gorny – on September 18. Preparations are still underway in some districts, but they do not affect the beginning of the heating period," the official said, his words are quoted on the official portal of Transbaikalia.

According to him, municipalities are completing the formation of coal reserves for more than 45 days in advance. This work has been completed in most districts. In total, contracts have been signed for the supply of fuel in the amount of 942 thousand tons, writes ChitaMedia news agency.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that heat supply and heating grid organizations that did not fix the defects on time before the heating season will be punished. The Ministry of Energy proposed to introduce this offense into the Administrative Code, providing for fines of up to 4 thousand rubles.
