As a result of a gas explosion in an apartment of a multi-storey residential building in Angarsk, one person was killed and three more people were injured. This was announced on September 15 by the Governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev.

"Four people were injured, one of them died, two were hospitalized. The fourth victim, a child born in 2012, does not need to be hospitalized," he said in a message on the Telegram channel.

He clarified that 79 people had been evacuated from the house at the time of the incident. A temporary accommodation facility has been set up for residents, where 22 people, including 12 children, are currently staying.

In addition, Kobzev added that as a result of the incident, the ceiling collapsed between the first and second floors of the house. In addition, all doors and glazing were knocked out, and 10 apartments were damaged.

According to the governor, due to the explosion, cold and hot water and gas supplies were turned off in the building for the duration of emergency rescue operations. Specialists are working at the scene of the incident.

On August 16, the main directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Dagestan reported that two women were injured in a gas explosion in the Karabudakhkentsky district. According to preliminary data, no damage was found as a result of the incident.
