Crowds of people dressed in the national flags of England, mountains of garbage and posters displayed right on the sidewalks — this is what the streets of London look like as a result of the protests that broke out in Britain against the migration policy of the cabinet of the current Prime Minister of the country, Keir Starmer. Journalist Anna Zhikhareva told Izvestia about this on September 13.

"Police cordons in London this weekend are the only way to be safe. Such a wall helps to hide from a street riot, which by all indications resembles the beginning of a civil war," she said.

The footage shows how employees of the British public utilities are trying to eliminate the consequences of the riots, working on the streets that the demonstrators have not yet left.

"I really believe that people in the UK feel that their freedom is being taken away from them. <...> Someone was arrested for expressing his opinion," said Nathan, one of the participants in the rally, who had specially come to London from Devonshire.

According to him, the infringement of freedom of speech in Britain has also become one of the reasons for what is happening. In this regard, he mentioned the American political activist Charlie Kirk, who died as a result of an assassination attempt, whose portraits could be seen in the crowd gathered at the protests.

"He wasn't promoting hate, and he wasn't defending the infringement of other people's opinions, he was killed because someone disagreed with him," Nathan added.

He clarified that he had witnessed several cases of clashes with police involving protesters.

The Guardian reported on the same day that Charlie Kirk's death as a result of an assassination attempt against him was the reason for the largest far-right rally in Britain in recent decades.

Later it became known that more than 100 thousand people took to the streets of London, who also opposed illegal migration. Their demonstration, organized by right-wing activist Tommy Robinson, was held under the slogan "Unite the Kingdom."
