In an attempt to overthrow the Serbian government, foreign intelligence agencies spent $4 billion on organizing street riots. This was announced on September 13 by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in an interview with Informer TV.

"$4 billion has been spent on the collapse of the state. The main organizer of the color revolutions comes from outside. These are employees of different special services, they do this from several countries," Vucic said.

The President noted that he knows the list of those countries who tried to organize a coup. However, Vucic did not disclose it, so as not to violate Serbia's neutrality.

"These countries know that we are aware of what they are doing," he stressed.

Vucic explained that the security services were financing the protests, which were supposed to turn into a color revolution — all this was done with the aim of destroying Serbia by overthrowing its government.

The anti-government protests, which are attended by the Serbian opposition, began after 15 people died in November 2024 as a result of the collapse of a canopy at the railway station in Novi Sad. The protesters blocked bridges and roads. On July 4, Vucic called on those who took to the streets not to block the city, threatening to use counteraction measures. However, since August 2025, street riots have become especially widespread and violent.

On August 12, protests took place in Serbian Vrbas, during which almost 70 people were injured. A group of citizens of the republic expressed dissatisfaction in front of the building of the Serbian Progressive Party and its supporters. On August 13, it was reported that 64 people were injured in the protests, 16 of them policemen. The actions covered the offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party in Novi Sad and other cities of Serbia.
