VIA Proletarian Tango recorded a tribute to the song "Muscovites" by the Lube group
The Lube group presented a new tribute to the song "Muscovites", which was reinterpreted and performed by the vocal and instrumental ensemble (VIA) "Proletarian Tango" for the tribute album "Lube 35. It's starting again..." The band members told Izvestia about the song on September 12.
"My team and I came up with an excellent arrangement, in our opinion. And now, in our opinion, it sounds completely different. Which, in fact, was very important to us, because we wanted to give this song a new life, a new breath," said Dmitry Karanevsky, head of Proletarian Tango.
He added that the ensemble was offered a choice of several Lyube songs to create a tribute. However, as Karanevsky noted, the band settled on "Muscovites" because the participants heard "something Soviet" in the words of the song, which perfectly fit into the style of "Proletarian tango". The band's arrangement, according to the musicians, gives the song a completely new touch.
Mikhail Andreev, the poet and author of the text of "Muscovites," said that the element of wordplay and alliteration is important in the song.
"The trick in this song is "the hero city of Moscow" - it was spoken by big people, with an expression like the announcer Levitan. And I put this phrase in such a context that there is no way to sing it. We are used to a very large, large-scale sound, like a hydroelectric power station, like the Milky Way. And I made such a "more human" context, there is a lot of play," Andreev shared.
For the Proletarian Tango collective, working with the song "Moskvichki" became a significant event, since the work of "Lube" was close to Karanevsky from childhood.
Singer Larisa Dolina also participated in the recording of the album, for which she recorded her version of the song "Atas". On September 8, she wished the leader of the Lyube group Nikolai Rastorguev long years of life, profession and "widespread sales."
Singer Lyubov Uspenskaya recorded her version of the song "The Guitar Sings" for the tribute album on August 15. It is noted that the experiment turned out to be successful for the singer — the song added drama and nostalgia to the gold standard of the sound of the Uspenskaya vocals. Initially, "Guitar Sings" was included in the album "Let's Go for" in 2002, which became more cheerful than other collections of "Lube".
