The Pacific Fleet has launched a planned command and staff exercise with the joint command of troops and forces in the north-east of Russia for the protection and defense of maritime communications in the North Pacific Ocean and the coast of the Kamchatka and Chukchi territories. This was announced on September 12 by the press service of the fleet.

"Currently, as part of the exercise, Pacific Fleet forces are being deployed from their bases to designated areas, where they will have to work out a set of measures to search for imaginary enemy submarines, repel air attacks, launch joint missile strikes on single and group naval target positions, as well as improve practical skills in defending against attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles. and unmanned boats," the statement says.

It is noted that more than 10 ships and boats, as well as airplanes, helicopters of the naval aviation of the fleet, positions of nuclear submarines and combat crews of Bastion coastal missile systems were involved in the exercise.

It is specified that the exercise is the final combat training event for the summer training period of the Pacific Fleet. At the same time, the event is aimed at checking the combat readiness of personnel and management bodies for conducting defensive operations in the region.

On August 19, the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy (RF Navy) launched a bilateral tactical training exercise with the development of tasks for the purpose in the offshore combat training grounds of the Caspian Sea. At the first stage of the ZTU, the crews of the ships carried out emergency preparations for combat and left the base for the dispersal areas.
