This season beekeepers of Sevastopol managed to collect more than 6 tons of honey. Honey is produced in 50 apiaries of 1.3 thousand bee colonies. It is sold at markets and city fairs.

In 2024, Sevastopol managed to harvest more than 20 tons of honey. At that time, 160 thousand rubles were allocated for the purchase of bee colonies and equipment. This year, the amount for these purposes has been increased to 200 thousand rubles, according to IA SevastopolMedia with reference to the regional government.

It is noted that the State Veterinary Service conducts bee research and honey examination for free.

Earlier, Daniil Shchepelyaev, an immunologist and allergist, told Izvestia what the main risk is when bitten by insects. He explained that some insects can inject venom, like wasps, while others can leave saliva, like midges. In both cases, a pathological immune response of the body is possible.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
