The Court of Justice of the European Union (EU) has annulled the decision of the European Commission (EC) on the allocation of financial assistance to Hungary for the expansion of the Paks nuclear power plant. This was stated on September 11 in a ruling of the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

The document states that Hungary's government subsidies for have not been recognized as complying with EU regulations.

"The Court of Justice overturns the decision of the court of general jurisdiction and annuls the decision of the European Commission to approve state aid to Hungary for the construction of two new nuclear reactors at the Paks NPP," the ruling says.
