Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili said on Thursday, September 11, that Charlie Kirk, an American political activist and ally of US President Donald Trump, had become a victim of liberal fascism.

"The murder of Charlie Kirk is a terrible incident, which, of course, is connected with his conservative views, his criticism of pseudo-liberal ideology, his opposition to LGBT propaganda (the LGBT movement is recognized in the Russian Federation as extremist and banned. — Ed.). Kirk has become another victim of liberal fascism," Kavelashvili wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The President added that the cynical comments of this crime by followers of pseudo-liberal ideology are even more horrifying. According to Kavelashvili, all those who persecute people with different views and impose their ideology are accomplices in the murder of Charlie Kirk.

The assassination attempt on Kirk took place on September 10 during a speech at the University of Utah. He was hospitalized, but it was not possible to save him. The motives of the criminal are not yet known, and there is no confirmed information about his detention.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), linked the incident to the depth of the split existing in the United States. According to him, the assassination attempt against a man who opposed the provision of military assistance to Ukraine is important not only for the United States, but for the whole world.
