The American company OpenAI, which is the developer of ChatGPT, has entered into a long-term partnership with Oracle Corporation, which provides for the purchase of computing resources worth $ 300 billion over a five-year period, in order to expand opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence. This was reported on September 10 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

"OpenAI has signed a contract with Oracle for the purchase of computing power in the amount of $ 300 billion for a period of five years," the material says.

It is clarified that the amount significantly exceeds the startup's current revenue, and the deal itself is one of the largest in the history of cloud computing.

The Guardian newspaper reported on August 23 that Sam Altman, the head of OpenAI, and Peter Kyle, the UK Minister of Technology, discussed the possibility of a deal worth up to £2 billion. It is clarified that the idea was voiced, but Kyle did not take it seriously because of the high cost.
