The Italian national football team defeated Israel in the 6th qualifying round for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The game took place on September 8 at the Nadierdei Stadium in Debrecen, Hungary, and ended with a score of 5:4.

Striker Moise Ken scored for the winners (40th and 54th minutes), winger Matteo Politano (59th), striker Giacomo Raspadori (81st) and midfielder Sandro Tonali (90+1st)

Dor Peretz scored for Israel, who scored two goals in the 52nd and 90th minutes, and two more goals were scored by Italian players Manuel Locatelli and Alessandro Bastoni in the 16th and 87th minutes, respectively.

Currently, the Italian national team, which scored nine points, is in second place in the Group I standings, while Israel occupies the third place.

In the next game, the Italian national team will face the Estonian national team, and Israel will face the Norwegian team — the matches will be held on October 11.

On September 7, the Spanish national team beat Turkey 6-0 in the selection for the 2026 World Cup. It was noted that the victory was brought closer thanks to a hat-trick, which was decorated by the midfielder of the winning team, Mikel Merino.
