EM Rus Company has announced the completion of the development of a domestic electric drive system for transport. The solution is scalable and suitable for all types of electric vehicles, including utility electric vehicles, urban transport and light trucks, representatives of the company told Izvestia on September 8.

The solution includes an 80 kW inverter, a synchronous electric motor and an 88 kWh traction battery with its own control and balancing system. Domestic software was used: EM Rus specialists used the T-Flex PDM management system for design and technological data and accompanying information from the Russian company Top Systems.

"In fact, a powerful foundation has been formed for further developments in this area, and the team of specialists continues to expand and increase expertise in key technological areas," EM Rus said.

In 2022, EM Rus introduced an all-electric truck based on the UAZ model. Its production base is located in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.

Earlier, on August 20, it became known that, as of the beginning of July, there were 65.2 thousand electric vehicles in Russia. Since the beginning of the year, the increase in the number of electric cars has amounted to 5.6 thousand units (+9.4%), of which 4.4 thousand cars were sold as new, the rest were used. The most common electric car model in the country is the Nissan Leaf (17.3 thousand units).

On August 18, it was reported that Russia's largest charging hubs for electric vehicles will be built on the M-11 Neva, and they will start operating in 2026. In the future, six similar complexes will appear on the highway.
