The Eastern Economic Forum 2025 was held in Vladivostok on September 3-6. Representatives of federal and regional authorities, Russian and foreign businesses, and leading experts in economics and management gathered at the Far Eastern Federal University campus. The main theme of the WEF is "The Far East – cooperation for peace and Prosperity." The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.

"This year, the tenth anniversary Eastern Economic Forum was held. 358 agreements worth 6 trillion 58.2 billion rubles were signed at the Forum. But that's not the main thing. The Forum has become a place to summarize the work over the past ten years. On behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, we continue to work for the benefit of the Far East, for the benefit of our Motherland. Social programs that are in demand by people, mechanisms for stimulating the economy and attracting investors have been launched. The instructions given by the President will be fulfilled in full," said Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Preparation and Holding of the WEF.

Every year, foreign partners come to the WEF who are interested in developing business and good neighborly relations.

The Forum's program consisted of seven main thematic blocks: "The Far East – a territory for life and development", "Recipes for growth: investment, innovation, integration", "Openness and mutually beneficial partnership – the basis of stability", "Technology: from theory to economic effects", "Cities – for people's lives", "Growth arteries: how logistics is changing the economy" and "In partnership between business and government: a major reassembly." The business program includes more than 165 business events. More than 1,000 speakers took part in them. Within the framework of the Forum, meetings of representatives of the business circles of Russia and the Asia-Pacific countries were held: business dialogues "Russia – China", "Russia – India", "Russia – Laos", "Russia – Thailand", "Russia – ASEAN".

Other events include the APEC International Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Lessons from the Great Patriotic War and World War II: Towards the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory", and the International Youth Economic Forum "Day of the Future".

The key event of the Forum was a plenary session attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Songsai Siphandon, Prime Minister of Mongolia Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar and Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Li Hongzhong. In his speech, the Russian leader touched upon the progressive development of the Far East and the strengthening of international cooperation, as well as outlined the prospects for economic development.

"As you know, the development of the Far East and Siberia has been designated Russia's national priority for the entire 21st century. This was stated in a Message to the Federal Assembly at the end of 2013. Then the regulatory framework began to be formed and updated, and a number of business support tools were launched, including priority development territories, Vladivostok free port and preferential treatment regimes in the Kuril Islands, and a special administrative region on Russian Island. Large-scale plans have been launched to strengthen transport, energy, and communal infrastructure. Decisions have been made to support housing construction, renovation, and the creation of social facilities such as schools, kindergartens, clinics, and hospitals, as well as sports complexes. These efforts are combined into a large State program for the development of the Far East. It outlines ambitious targets for advancing economic and technological growth and improving the well-being of residents of the Far Eastern regions of the Federation. And these efforts are yielding the expected results. Over the past years, the Far East has taken a leading position in many key indicators, primarily economic ones, outstripping the national pace," Vladimir Putin stressed.

The Forum was attended by about 8000 people from 75 countries and territories, including Russia. The largest delegations came from China, Laos, Mongolia, Japan, and India. The Forum was attended by 1,418 media representatives from Russia and 9 foreign countries (Great Britain, Vietnam, Germany, Indonesia, China, Laos, Mongolia, USA, Japan).

358 agreements, contracts, memoranda, plans and roadmaps were signed at the Forum. The total amount of signed documents, information about which is not a commercial secret, and non-public agreements between the Ministry of the Far East Development of Russia and KRDV JSC amounts to 6 trillion 58.2 billion rubles.
