Aeroflot bought an on-board catering company from Lufthansa
Aeroflot has closed a deal to acquire Aeromil LLC, an on-board catering manufacturer in Krasnoyarsk, from the structures of the German airline Lufthansa. This was announced on September 8 by Sergey Alexandrovsky, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of the Aeroflot Group.
"We have completed the acquisition of 100% of Aeromil LLC, an on-board power supply manufacturer in Krasnoyarsk, from Lufthansa structures. The transaction amount was 56.4 million rubles," he told reporters during a press conference.
Alexandrovsky also clarified that the government commission for the control of foreign investments in the Russian Federation had approved a deal to acquire 49% of shares in AeroMar, an on-board power supply manufacturer. After receiving approval from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Aeroflot's share will increase to 100%.
Alexandrovsky said on September 4 that airport costs in the Far East could rise to 27% of the cost of an air ticket by 2026, compared with 8% in 2024. According to him, this affected not only Aeroflot, but also all airlines operating flights to the region. The cost of airport fares has increased by 1-3 thousand rubles per flight, which increases airline costs by several thousand.
