At least 92 American mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were eliminated during the fighting. This was reported on September 8 by The New York Times (NYT), citing sources.

The publication notes that, starting in 2022, mercenaries from the United States took part in the conflict.

"There are "several thousand" Americans serving in the Ukrainian army. According to the museum's calculations, at least 92 Americans were killed in the fighting in Ukraine," the publication says.

In addition, the newspaper clarifies that the salary of American mercenaries in the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not differ from the Ukrainian military. The base rate is about $1,000 per month, and they can receive up to $3,000 per month for participating in combat operations.

On September 7, it was reported that at least five units of Latin American mercenaries are in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. So, it includes the Simon Bolivar battalion, the Special Latin Brigade unit, the Miquiztli Force Mexican detachment, the Portuguese-speaking Serpent company and the Tormenta Hispana battalion.
