A Black Sea dolphin was spotted swimming into a river in Kuban.
The red-listed bottlenose dolphin of the Black Sea, which swam into the Beisug River in the Krasnodar Territory, behaves actively, hooligans and is not afraid of anyone. A local fisherman, Nikolai Pavlovich, told Izvestia about this on September 8.
"He's a bully, he gets in the way of fishing. <...> Absolutely not afraid of anyone. He comes in, leaves, dives, lives his life, but, of course, he is not in his environment," the man shared.
He noted that a few years ago dolphins were seen near the village of Yasenskaya Ferry — but then a whole flock swam into the reservoir.
"I think he just got lost," concluded Nikolai Pavlovich.
The Black Sea bottlenose dolphin has been swimming in the Beisug River for two weeks now. According to experts, fresh water can harm her skin. The condition of the mammal is monitored by rescuers and veterinarians, who are ready to help the animal at any moment.
On July 23, it was reported that dolphins had been spotted in the Gulf of Finland about 50 km from St. Petersburg. A local resident filmed marine life in the Zelenogorsk area, which scientists allegedly identified as bottlenose dolphins. These individuals occasionally appear in the eastern part of the Baltic Sea.
