Putin congratulates Rahmon on Tajikistan's Independence Day
Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Tajikistan's leader Emomali Rahmon on the country's Independence Day and noted the successful development of relations between the two countries. The corresponding statement was published on the official website of the President of Tajikistan on September 8.
"Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday — Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan... Russian-Tajik relations are successfully developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance," the message reads.
In addition, the Russian leader noted Tajikistan's successes in the social and economic spheres and expressed hope for the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between the Russian Federation and Tajikistan.
"I wish you, dear Emomali Sharifovich, good health and success, and peace and prosperity to all citizens of Tajikistan," Putin stressed.
On September 1, Putin met with Rahmon at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. According to Putin, he and the President of Tajikistan are in constant contact. The Russian leader clarified that the governments of the two countries also interact with each other on a regular basis.
