- NTV learned about Turkey and Armenia's readiness to discuss opening borders between the countries
Turkey and Armenia intend to hold a meeting between the delegations next week on the opening of borders between the countries and the settlement of political relations. This was reported on September 7 by the NTV channel, citing diplomatic sources.
"Turkey and Armenia will meet for an intergovernmental meeting for the first time in a long time. The visit is scheduled for early next week," the publication says.
According to the TV channel, the Turkish delegation, which includes Special Representative for Normalization of relations Serdar Kilic, will travel to Armenia through the Alijan checkpoint.
It is noted that within the framework of the first meeting of the delegations of Turkey and Armenia, a decision may be made to normalize bilateral relations between the countries.
The first meeting of the Special Representatives of Yerevan and Ankara, Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kilic, took place on January 14, 2022. Shortly after that, in February, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan admitted that the borders between the countries could be opened.
