Most regions of Russia have tightened requirements for the sale of alcohol
Most Russian regions have tightened the requirements for the sale of alcohol on their territory. At the same time, many of them intend to strengthen restrictions, TASS reported on September 7.
"Our goal is a systematic solution to the problem: reducing alcoholism, preserving public health, protecting the rights of residents and eradicating "pseudo—thieves" who violate public order," Leonid Cherkesov, Chairman of the State Council of Chuvashia, Honored Doctor of the Chuvash Republic, told the agency.
The federal ban applies to the sale of alcohol from 23:00 to 8:00, but, for example, in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, the retail sale of alcohol is prohibited from 20:00 to 08:00 in the morning. In the Novgorod region, there is the same time limit, but already for sale in the outlets of apartment buildings. In the Irkutsk region, a ban on selling alcohol in retail outlets is provided from 21:00 to 9:00.
Earlier, on August 11, Sergey Rybalchenko, chairman of the Russian Public Chamber's commission on demography, protection of family, children and traditional family values, proposed raising the legal age for alcohol sales to 21. It was noted that the OP of the Russian Federation proposed to introduce restrictions in stages.
