Moscow is ready for the upcoming heating season, said Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

"From May to August, the city services prepared 74 thousand buildings. As part of the regional overhaul program, central heating systems have been updated in more than 600 residential buildings," the mayor wrote on his channel in the MAX.

The mayor added that repairs also took place on engineering systems and equipment of power facilities. Reserves of reserve fuel have been created at the CHPP, which, if necessary, "will be enough for autonomous operation for a week," Sobyanin said.

In addition, repairs and prophylaxis of thermal, electrical, water, sewer, drainage networks and gas pipelines were carried out.

"There are 157 utility vehicle bases in full readiness," the mayor informed. "Road sweepers and other vehicles are ready to operate around the clock for the comfort of Muscovites."

In August, it was reported that fines could be imposed in Russia for poor preparation for the heating season. As specified in the Ministry of Energy, such sanctions may be imposed for failure to eliminate deficiencies in heat supply.

As noted by the Izvestia TV channel, for legal entities the fine will be up to 10 thousand rubles, for officials — up to 4 thousand rubles. At the same time, penalties are also provided for consumers — 500 rubles. The relevant bill may be considered and adopted by the State Duma in the fourth quarter of 2025.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
