Karina Gitinomagomedova, the owner of the DogTown shelter in Chekhov near Moscow, where animals were mistreated, was detained. This was announced on September 7 by a source of Izvestia.

According to him, the prosecutor's office conducted an inspection, as a result of which the suspect was detained under Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruelty to animals") and Article 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud").

Earlier, on September 5, a criminal case was opened on the fact of cruelty to pets in this shelter. It is specified that his owner beat the dogs and put electric shock collars on them. In addition, the pets were kept in improper conditions, as a result of which they received abrasions.
