The radical Palestinian movement Hamas has denied a statement by US President Donald Trump about negotiating a settlement to the conflict in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on September 6 by Al Arabiya TV channel, citing sources.

"Information about direct or indirect negotiations with Washington is not true," reads a statement posted on the publication's YouTube channel.

It is noted that the movement is ready for any proposals that will help achieve a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and achieve the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the enclave and ensure the supply of humanitarian aid.

Earlier, on August 29, Trump, along with his son-in-law Jared Kushner and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, discussed the conflict between Israel and Hamas, and also talked about the post-war future of the Gaza Strip. According to people familiar with the conversation, which lasted about an hour and a half, the head of the White House did not discuss the future of the Gazans in his speech — he was thinking about turning the territory they occupied into a resort.
