In the Elbrus district of Kabardino-Balkaria (KBR), work has begun on the search for a missing climber from Belarus. This was reported on September 6 in the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

According to the agency, the 26-year-old tourist did not register for the ascent. He is not in touch at the moment. According to the latest data, the climber planned to climb Mount Terskolak, whose height is 3.8 thousand meters.

"Rescuers from the Elbrus high—altitude rescue center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, rescuers from the Leader center have moved to the site, and an aerial visual survey of the area is underway," the department's Telegram channel says.

The details of the incident are being clarified.

On August 19, it was reported that 47-year-old Russian climber Natalia Nagovitsina was stuck on Victory Peak. She broke her leg during the descent and has been at altitude for about two weeks. Shortly after that, the head of the mountaineering base camp, Dmitry Grekov, announced the completion of the rescue operation for the climber at that time. On August 27, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan officially recognized Nagovitsina as missing.

On the same day, the presidential administration of Kyrgyzstan showed footage from a drone that circled Victory Peak to monitor Nagovitsina. The State Committee for National Security of the country reported that, following aerial surveys, it found no signs that the Russian climber was alive.
