Scammers have developed a new scheme to deceive Russians using fake chats with company executives and the supposedly official Gosuslug bot. This became known on September 6.

The RIA Novosti news agency clarified that the attackers create work chats on behalf of managers and address company employees with statements about the need to transfer the archive of employees to electronic media and remove those who no longer work from the system.

Later, allegedly to "confirm the data", victims are offered to use the supposedly official Gosuslug bot in the Telegram channel and click on the link, and then activate the bot and enter the phone number. After that, a six-digit code is sent to the SMS.

It is noted that the scammers demand to send this code to a chat or private messages, while claiming that the digitization procedure cannot be completed without it. After sending the code, the attackers get full access to their personal account at Gosuslugi.

On September 5, the Russian Interior Ministry reported that fraudsters began sending messages to pensioners with instructions about allegedly increasing pensions, and the messages come under the guise of notifications from the Pension Fund. It was clarified that in fraudulent SMS messages they write about the "last reminder" from the Pension Fund to join the Telegram channel via the link. The attackers claim that it contains all the necessary information on increasing pensions or receiving additional bonuses for pensioners.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
