The Ministry of Industry and Trade supported the extension of the parallel import mechanism for 2026. Roman Chekushov, State Secretary and Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, told Izvestia about this in an exclusive interview at the WEF-2025.

"Yes, we believe that it is necessary to extend the parallel import mechanism for 2026," the deputy head of the department said.

At the same time, he noted that the ministry would approach this carefully and would not rush into long-term extensions.

"For a year now, we have been gradually reducing the number of brands that are included in the parallel import mechanism. We also see a reduction in customs statistics. Moreover, it is decreasing at a much faster rate than we are reducing the number of brands in the order. This means that such goods are less in demand in the Russian Federation," Roman Chekushov explained.
