Former CSKA Moscow football player Gennady Stromberger has died at the age of 70. This was announced on September 5 by the club's press service in the Telegram channel.

"We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Gennady Yurievich," the publication says.

The causes of the athlete's death are unknown.

Stromberger won the First League of the USSR Championship with CSKA in 1986. Before that, he played for Kairat from Alma Ata. After completing his football career, Stromberger continued his work on the coaching staff of CSKA and the club's second team. He was also the head coach of the Moscow region "Istra" and the Moscow "Strogino".
