The expansion of priority development territories (TOP) to the entire Far East will provide an incentive for the development of small towns. This was announced on September 5 by Dmitry Demeshin, Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, after a plenary session with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), the Izvestia correspondent reports.

"This will give a message for the development of small towns and settlements. The Far East should have no outskirts, and that's exactly what [Russian President] Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was talking about today," the governor stressed.

Speaking at the plenary session, Putin said that the TOR tool had proven its effectiveness. He also noted that 18 priority development territories have been created in the Far East, employing more than 300 residents who have invested almost 4 trillion rubles and created 95,000 new jobs.
