Peskov assessed the prospects for the development of the Russian Federation and the United States

The process of normalization of relations between Russia and the United States is not progressing quickly — the process of their full restoration may take time. This was announced on September 5 by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, in the Izvestia studio during the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (WEF 2025).

"The process of normalization of bilateral Russian-American relations is proceeding slowly. <...> it will be a time—consuming process," he said.

According to Peskov, the connection between Moscow and Washington was influenced by the "efforts" of the previous administration of US President Joe Biden.
