The film "Red Silk" captivated the Beijing audience at the premiere
The Sino-Russian thriller "Red Silk" made a strong impression on the audience in Beijing. This was reported by Global Time on September 4.
The film tells the story of revolutionaries who risked their lives to preserve secret documents in 1927, and combines historical drama, detective elements and a romantic line.
"The Chinese elements and plots presented in the film are quite attractive, and I hope that Chinese viewers will like them too," said Alexei Rodionov, professor of Chinese studies at St. Petersburg University.
General producer Vadim Byrkin emphasized that the film reflects the common history of China and Russia and is able to find a response from a wide audience.
The film, shot in both countries, has already grossed more than 689 million rubles at the Russian box office and entered the top 10 highest-grossing films of the year.
Earlier that day, the director of the film, Andrei Volgin, in a conversation with Izvestia, spoke about the difficulties with the language barrier on the set. He noted that a week of joint work helped overcome it. Volgin also emphasized the discipline of the Chinese team and professionalism.
