The leader of the Moldovan opposition bloc Pobeda, Ilan Shor, sees defeating the current President of Moldova, Maya Sandu, as the main goal in future parliamentary elections. He told about it on September 5 in the Izvestia studio within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum - 2025 (WEF-2025).

"Our main goal in these elections is to demolish Sandu. We don't care now who enters parliament, who wins, it doesn't matter," he said.

The politician said that the representatives of the bloc understand that early elections will be held in the republic. According to him, fair early parliamentary elections will need to be held after the "demolition" of Sandu.

On August 31, political analyst Alexander Korinenko said that the parliamentary elections in Moldova, which are scheduled for September 28, will be held in an atmosphere of fear and pressure on the opposition. The expert noted that the ruling party is unlikely to receive more than 30% of the vote inside the country, but it places great hopes on mobilizing the diaspora.

On August 27, the former head of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, said that Moldova was going through the worst period in its history, as it was facing problems in all key areas. She added that "the economy in Moldova is destroyed, justice is not functioning, corruption is rampant, poverty is deepening, and human rights are being violated."
