The United States has added three foreign non—governmental organizations to the sanctions list - Al-Haq, the Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights. This was announced on September 4 by Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the website of the State Department.

He noted that they are "directly involved in the efforts of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate and prosecute Israeli citizens without Israel's consent."

"The United States and Israel are not parties to the Rome Statute and are not subject to the powers of the ICC. We oppose the politicized agenda of the ICC and will actively oppose actions that threaten our national interests and the sovereignty of our allies," Rubio stressed.

According to him, Washington will continue to impose "significant and tangible consequences" on structures supporting the ICC's work against Israel.

Earlier, on August 20, the United States imposed sanctions on four representatives of the ICC. According to the US Department of State, Judges Kimberly Prost and Nicolas Yann Guillou, deputy prosecutors Nazhat Shamim Khan and Mamet Mandiaye Niang were included in the list.
