In Brazil, goalkeeper Antonio Edson dos Santos Souza died shortly after taking a penalty kick at a futsal match. This was reported on September 4 by CNNBrasil TV channel.

The tragedy occurred while playing in an amateur tournament in the municipality of Augusto Correa in the northeastern state of Para.

"The goalkeeper jumped into the right corner and deflected the shot, but when he was walking towards his teammates, he collapsed," the TV channel reports.

The athlete was urgently hospitalized, but it was not possible to save him.
