The premiere of the blockbuster "Red Silk" took place in China
The symbol of friendship between Moscow and Beijing is what Chinese newspapers call the large—scale film project of the two countries — the film "Red Silk". On September 4, China hosted the big premiere of a film about the common history of such different countries, which determined the future of the peoples.
Immediately upon entering the cinema, the first viewers of the Celestial Empire turn on the cameras on their phone. They take down the banner at the entrance, other Chinese people, even how the Izvestia film crew works.
"Red Silk" is being shown for the first time in China at the main cinema of China Film Group, which is the largest producer and distributor of films in the country. But the day of the premiere, September 4, is considered special here," said Izvestia correspondent Viktor Sineok.
The premiere the day after the victory over the Japanese militarists is a sign of great respect. This is a really long-awaited premiere, and its guests were lucky to see the film two days earlier. And not only him — the main stars of "Red Silk" are in Beijing today.
Chinese actress Zheng Hanyi is just getting used to the role of a movie star. She recently came to study acting in Russia — and here she has such success.
"To be honest, of course, it's very difficult. Because this is my debut. And at first I didn't know how to work with partners at all. In short, I tried very hard," she said.
Nearby, actor Milos Bikovic, already accustomed to popularity, praises his Chinese colleagues.
"The Chinese group, it works according to its principles, is a little different from us. They can work seven days a week and choose for themselves. There are more of them in the group, and they choose what day off they have," Bikovich said.
The joint film, shot at the largest studio in China and in the most beautiful Russian regions, is a complex and ambitious project. Different film crews, different languages, different approaches, the same result. They have already appreciated it in Russia — the film showed the best collections in its genre.
The interest in the film in China is partly due to its historical basis. The plot develops around the events that actually took place in 1927. A common struggle against a common enemy. Krasny Silk was created with the participation of NMG Kinoprokat, a company that is part of the National Media Group holding.
"I am very pleased to be present here in China at the premiere of the film Red Silk, which, of course, is an example of the high level of Russian-Chinese partnership and warm relations between our countries. It is important that the premiere of the film takes place in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War and the victory of the Chinese people in the war against Japanese aggression. In our countries, they are especially sensitive to preserving historical memory and preventing the rewriting of history. In particular, it is this unity that allows us to create such unique joint projects as Red Silk. Thanks to such films, we preserve the truth about historical events and pass it on to future generations. I would like to thank all the Chinese partners who participated in this project and wish the Chinese viewers a pleasant viewing. I am sure the picture will find a response in the hearts of the audience, and you and I will see many more joint Russian-Chinese projects in the future," said Alina Kabayeva, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Media Group.
This is not only the premiere of a movie, but for the first time in many years, Russia and China have established cooperation in a very sensitive and high—tech field. Because a lot of people make movies with Chinese people. But for the first time, Russian cinematographers were able to make a joint film that would later receive the "dragon's seal" — the right to be shown in China as a local cinema. They were followed by a queue of people who wanted to repeat themselves, who massively seek advice.
"We have gone our own way, avoided mistakes due to the fact that we studied all this deeply. That's why they come to us, and we tell them how to do it better in Russia. And of course, we will help in case of filming," said Vadim Byrkin, general producer of the film "Red Silk".
It will also be possible to get acquainted with the new film in China using CINITY technology. An advanced shooting method that allows you to watch movies at 120 frames per second. China loves everything technological.
"Our two countries have a very rich future together. And of course, they are also interested in cultural specifics, but, most importantly, "Red Silk" is a well—shot action film, a detective story with a romantic story, with beautiful Chinese, Russian and even Serbian actors," said Svetlana Balanova, General Director of the National Media Group.
But the main thing here is still the plot: a common struggle, a common victory. It's just like in life. It is no coincidence that such dates were chosen for the premiere.
It all started with a high-level conversation between the Russian and Chinese leaders. At the end of his visit to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin, answering a question from Izvestia correspondent Nikolai Ivanov, told how it was.
"Actually, this is the idea of the [PRC] chairman himself Xi Jinping. We were at one of the events with him. And I drew attention to the fact that it is very difficult for our manufacturers to break into the Chinese market. Well, he smiled cunningly and said, "Let's produce joint paintings." And then the market is open. Indeed, it is. One of the first swallows is the Red Silk," Putin said.
And soon the "second swallow" will take off — filming of the sequel called "Black Silk" will start in China this winter. They even managed to shoot a few scenes in Vladivostok. China is ahead again.
"We are already at the premiere of, let's say, "Red Silk", we are already in full discussion about the production of "Black Silk", and soon we will appear here again in order to prepare the project with the Chinese side," said Andrei Volgin, director of "Red Silk".
The premiere of "Red Silk" took place, and it can be called loud. The film is coming out. In China, cinemas will begin screening on September 6.
Earlier that day, Volgin told Izvestia that the difficulties with the language barrier on the set of the Russian-Chinese film disappeared after a week of working together, but the Russian actors have yet to learn Chinese. At the same time, Volgin noted the discipline of the Chinese team and stressed that it employs great professionals.
