Kravtsov spoke about the role of digital technologies in the education development strategy of the Russian Federation

Digital technologies that will be present in the education development strategy until 2036 as an addition to the traditional form of education. This was announced on September 4 by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov in the studio of Izvestia on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum - 2025 (WEF-2025).

"The strategy clearly states that there is a traditional form of education, and digital technologies are an addition to it," the Minister of Education explained.

According to the minister, the strategy is designed to prevent mistakes made in the 90s, when pseudo-experts tried to destroy the education system and impose values alien to Russia.

"Since the 2000s, our education system has been actively developing, and today we have come to uniform programs, textbooks, and requirements. As a matter of fact, we have revived the education system as a system. Yes, there are problems and tasks that need to be solved, but it is much easier to solve when there is a complete system," Kravtsov emphasized.

As Kravtsov noted, the strategy being developed also addresses forms of education, in particular issues related to the distance learning format. The plan also sets out aspects related to the financing of the education system and the principles of infrastructure improvement.

In addition, according to Kravtsov, in connection with the development of artificial intelligence, it is necessary to answer the question of how to use the capabilities of AI in the updated educational system.

Due to the demographic pit of the 90s, there will be much fewer students in elementary schools in the coming years.

Earlier, on August 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin called education the basis for the success of Russia's development. In addition, the President called it important that the Russian pedagogy differs in its multifaceted and versatile approach. He noted that in this regard, joint plans for the future should take into account the best traditions of the pre-revolutionary, Soviet and modern Russian schools.
