Most of the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are ready to cooperate with Russia on the implementation of the World Map. Sergey Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia about this in an interview at the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (WEF 2025).

The association includes Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.

Katyrin noted that most countries are interested in increasing the tourist flow. He added that by the end of this year, over 2 million Russian tourists will visit Thailand. At the same time, the check for one person is about $2 thousand .

"Countries are interested in making simple and convenient calculations for Russian tourists. The Mir map is the most acceptable option for us. It's not just about some business deals and industrial projects, but about tourism," the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized.

Earlier in the day, Phongsavan Sisoulat, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, said that ASEAN could offer Russia cooperation in agriculture, energy and mining. In addition, tourism is an important area of cooperation. According to the diplomat, in 2025, more than 2.5 million tourists from Russia visited the ASEAN countries.
