The premiere of the Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" took place in Beijing
On September 4, the premiere of the Russian—Chinese detective action film "Red Silk" took place at the main cinema of China Film Group in Beijing — "China Film International Cinema". Starting from September 6, the film will be released in wide distribution throughout China. Alina Kabayeva, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Media Group, came to support the premiere in China.
At the moment, an advertising campaign has begun in the country, and the expectation level is high, especially since the film touches on the common history of Russia and China. The film's distributor in China is the largest film corporation, China Film Group.
In China, "Red Silk" has received the status of a national film.
The film touches on the relations between China and the USSR in 1927. The Trans-Siberian Express. Secret documents that will change the course of history are being transported across Russia. Disguised as ordinary passengers, there are foreign intelligence agents and real thugs who are ready to do anything for the sake of documents. A young Red Army soldier and a former tsarist agent have to team up to uncover a common enemy.
Much attention was paid to recreating the atmosphere of that era. Filming took place in both Russia and China, with the thrilling action scenes in Shanghai shot entirely at the world's largest film studio, Hengdian World Studios. The actors performed most of the stunts themselves, which added realism and tension to the action on the screen. The sets and costumes are striking in their careful elaboration.
The scenes inside the express were filmed in a pavilion with life-size carriages. For these shootings, the largest screen with virtual scenery in Europe was erected in Moscow. And to create an environmental effect, a controlled artificial sky was built, assembled from 70 lighting devices.
At the premiere in Beijing, the film was presented by general producer Vadim Byrkin, director Andrei Volgin, screenwriter Maria Nefedova, cinematographer Maxim Mikhanyuk, actors Milos Bikovic, Svetlana Chuikina, Zheng Hanyi, Yang Zihua, Huang Haonan, as well as producers Yang Yang and Dmitry Liu. Svetlana Balanova, General Director of NMG, also took part in the premiere.
The Chinese side visited the premiere: The head of China Media Group, Shen Haixiong, representatives of the management of the film's distributor in China, China Film Group, among whom were Chairman of the board Fu Ruoqing, CEO Li Xianzen and other top managers of the company, head of the State Film Agency of China Mao Yu, as well as other representatives of the Chinese media industry.
The film was created with the participation of NMG Kinoprokat, a company that is part of the National Media Group holding.
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the idea of joint filmmaking between Russia and China belongs to Chinese President Xi Jinping, answering a question from Izvestia on September 3 about the first retro film made by the two countries, Red Silk.
