A high-alert regime was introduced on September 3 due to a spill of petroleum products in the Kola Bay in the Pervomaisky district of the Murmansk region. This was announced by the acting head of Murmansk, Ivan Lebedev.

"We are introducing a high—alert regime in connection with the threat of an emergency situation related to the spill of petroleum products in the Kola Bay in the Pervomaisky district," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

It is noted that law enforcement officers have been instructed to investigate the incident. In addition, Lebedev stressed that it is planned to organize a collection of contaminated soil on September 4.

Earlier, on August 29, it was reported that a small oil leak was detected in the port of Novorossiysk during a loading operation. It is specified that the spill was quickly localized with the help of 800 m booms. 87 specialists, four small boats, 12 tugboats, four oil collection vessels and seven floating tanks were involved in the aftermath.
