The Russian Federation noted an increase in interest in the profession of a fitness trainer

As of July 1, 2025, there were about 375,000 fitness trainers in Russia, which is 7% more than in 2023. At the same time, more than half of the country's fitness clubs (53%) are experiencing staff shortages. Such data is provided in the FitnessData study (available to the editorial staff).

Elena Sereda, Deputy Director of Fitness at DDX Fitness, confirmed the demand for the fitness trainer profession in the market. She also pointed out that to meet the demand, the fitness club chain has launched a DDX Academy.

"Our goal is to provide students with both a theoretical base and practical tools that will help them meet a wide variety of customer needs: from health promotion to preparation for competitions. DDX Academy makes the profession of a fitness trainer accessible to beginners and helps experienced athletes systematize their knowledge in order to start training," said Elena Sereda.

The training course, according to Sereda, allows you to become a professional trainer with the prospect of further partnership with the company. Students can master key skills, from developing training programs to conducting individual classes.

As Sereda noted, the first stream of training has already attracted more than 700 people, and now the next group is being recruited.
