In the Russian Federation, the number of regions with salaries above 100 thousand rubles has increased over the year.

The number of regions in Russia with an average salary above 100 thousand rubles increased from 11 to 19 per year. This was announced on September 3 on the Rosstat website.

According to the agency, the list includes the Moscow, Amur, Irkutsk and Arkhangelsk regions, as well as the Krasnoyarsk, Trans-Baikal and Primorsky Territories and the Komi Republic.

In addition, the list of regions with the highest salaries includes Chukotka (220.86 thousand rubles), Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs (183.63 thousand rubles), as well as the Magadan Region (178.69 thousand rubles).

It is noted that the increase in wages occurred as a result of a shortage of personnel, which increased competition in the labor market and forced employers to pay more. At the same time, the smallest salaries were recorded in Ingushetia (47.8 thousand rubles), Chechnya (51.9 thousand rubles) and Dagestan (56.6 thousand rubles).

On August 18, the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) reported that Russians on average need to earn almost 227 thousand rubles a month in order to feel happy. According to the survey, over the past eight years, Russians' wage demands have almost doubled. In 2017, in order to feel happy, it was necessary to earn an average of 109 thousand rubles per month.
