The head of the ROSSETI Group checked the progress of construction of key energy facilities in Primorye

As part of a working trip to the Far East, Andrey Ryumin, head of the ROSSETI Group, inspected the construction of the 500 kV Varyag substation and the power transmission line that will connect it to the Primorskaya GRES. He also held a meeting on the development of network infrastructure in the region.

"The Varyag substation will become part of the Primorsky Energy Ring, which will reduce the risks of power shortages in the south of the region, provide conditions for the development of the Vladivostok agglomeration, and create new production clusters," the head of Rosseti emphasized.

Despite the scale, the project is being implemented in an unprecedentedly short time, Ryumin stressed. He noted that equipment supplies come from all over the country, and almost 2,000 people work on construction sites.

The solutions used within the framework of the project will ensure high reliability of the new infrastructure, the company noted. Thus, reactive power compensation devices, digital relay protection systems and modern automated control systems will be used in the operation of the substation. The capacity of the power facility will be 501 MVA, and the length of the supply line will be almost 500 km. Equipment suppliers include companies from Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Chuvashia, Sverdlovsk, Pskov, Novosibirsk, and Tyumen regions.

Rosseti emphasized that in the future, new facilities may be involved in the power supply of the Primorsky Metallurgical Plant and the Artyom transport and logistics center. The substation and related infrastructure will also be effective in the complex development of the so—called Greater Vladivostok, the capital of Primorye and nearby settlements, the company believes.

In addition to inspecting the substation, Ryumin also held a meeting with the management of specialized units and contractors on the development of network infrastructure in the region. The head of Rosseti also discussed the implementation of major investment projects in the Far East.
