Ukrainian border guards shot dead a man while trying to escape to Moldova

A man was shot dead by Ukrainian border guards while trying to cross the border of Ukraine and Moldova in the Odessa region. This was reported on September 2 by the local newspaper "Страна.иа ".

"According to the border guards, one of the men who was spotted surrendered after a warning shot, the second tried to escape and was shot with an AK-74 machine gun in the border ditch," the publication says.

It is specified that there were two men who tried to cross the border. The fate of the second is not disclosed.
