A large-scale military parade is taking place in Beijing on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II. The celebrations held at Tiananmen Square take place on Wednesday, September 3. Izvestia is broadcasting.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and other heads of state are present at the parade. During the ceremony, the People's Liberation Army of China will showcase traditional units and the latest branches of the armed forces, presenting 45 calculations, advanced missile developments, tanks, aircraft and unmanned systems of its own production.

China Central Television reported that at 20:00 local time (15:00 Moscow time), a gala evening dedicated to the celebration will be held at the People's Assembly House in Beijing.

Vladimir Putin is in China on a four-day visit. Following the talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, more than 20 documents on bilateral cooperation between Russia and China were signed. The Russian President also stressed that Moscow is ready to maintain strategic cooperation with Beijing and strengthen high-level contacts.
