The average cost of a private house reaches 8 million rubles, and the average loan agreement amount is 6.5 million rubles. Such data was provided by Ruslan Eremenko, a member of the VTB Board, on the eve of the WEF-2025.

The individual construction market is showing growth, which is reflected in an increase in the number of applications and the volume of financing from banks, Eremenko said. Since April 2025, VTB has completed 253 transactions worth more than 1.6 billion rubles during the pilot project to finance individual housing construction. Most often, facilities in the Leningrad, Moscow, Vladimir regions and the Republic of Bashkortostan receive financing in the program, VTB noted. The average area of houses is about 100 square meters, mostly they are single—storey. The average time for building a house is about 9 months.

Eremenko recalled that the VTB program allows the developer to provide up to 80% of the cost of the facility using an escrow mechanism, ensuring transparency and minimizing risks for all participants. "This approach fully meets modern market requirements and contributes to the development of high-quality and affordable housing. Thanks to the program, more than 250 families will be able to improve their living conditions," he said.

The VTB Board member stressed that, given the high demand, the bank is interested in expanding the program. In his opinion, this will contribute to the further development of residential housing and support for small and medium-sized businesses in the construction industry.

VTB Bank has launched a pilot project under the DOM program.Russia in August 2024. It allows you to compensate for lost income on loans issued to contractors for the construction of residential housing.
