Over the past day, 337 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 27 people were killed and 390 injured. 21 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on September 2 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

So, in Moscow, a 37-year-old passenger car driver, when turning from the right shoulder, did not provide an advantage in traffic and collided with a motorcycle traveling in the same direction with him. As a result of the accident, a 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed, and the driver of the car ended up in the hospital with injuries.

24 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which two people were killed, and another 31 road users, including four children, required medical attention. 13 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

As a result of 92 accidents, 30 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 62 outside their area of operation, six pedestrians were killed, and 89 more were injured in various degrees of severity. 23 child pedestrians were among the injured, 12 of them were injured when crossing the roadway in designated places. There were also 65 accidents involving minors, in which 71 young road users were injured, including 28 passengers, six cyclists and seven motor transport drivers. There are no dead children.

Temporary closures or traffic restrictions are continuing in some regions of the country due to heavy rainfall and related floods. So, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, since the middle of yesterday, due to the breakthrough of the dam located on Lake Ogonki, the water level has been rising and pouring onto the roadway running from FAD R-257 "Yenisei" to one of the rural settlements of the region. In this regard, traffic on the five-kilometer section of this regional highway has been temporarily stopped.

In the Amur Region, due to heavy rains, the roadway has been temporarily restricted for buses and trucks from 39 km to 160 km of the A-360 Lena federal highway for more than a month. A detour has been organized along a dirt embankment directly near the place of erosion of the roadway. In the Sakhalin Region, traffic on the seventh kilometer of the Nevelsk-Shebunino highway of regional importance has been temporarily suspended since the first decade of August due to damage due to heavy rainfall to the bridge over the Kazachka River. There is a detour along the dirt embankment next to the damaged bridge.

The State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that motorists, when planning long-distance trips, familiarize themselves with the weather forecast and media information about possible overlap sites, outlining detours in advance. In case of traffic restrictions or closure of road sections due to worsening weather conditions, the relevant information is promptly posted on the website of the State Traffic Inspectorate, as well as on the official pages of the service units in social networks.

"In addition, we would like to draw the attention of drivers that with the beginning of autumn and its unstable weather, they should be extremely careful when driving: avoid sudden reckless maneuvers and realignments on roads slippery from frequent rains, observe the interval and distance between vehicles, and do not exceed the set speed," said the deputy head of the Road Safety Promotion Department. and prevention of children's road traffic injuries GUOBDD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Colonel Anton Belan.

In conditions of insufficient visibility, it is necessary to turn on external lighting devices, be sure to use fog lights (if any), and during precipitation, reduce speed as much as possible and move with the alarm lights on. In case of participation in an accident, the scene should be identified, if necessary, call traffic police officers, and if there are victims, an ambulance team, the department added.

Earlier, on August 31, it was reported that residents of Moscow, the Moscow region and the Republic of Dagestan most often violated traffic rules in 2024.
