A new benefit for large families may be introduced in the Murmansk Region.

The Murmansk Region authorities plan to introduce a new monetary compensation for large families. They want to establish a one-time payment of 500 thousand rubles from September 1, according to the Bi-Port news agency.

The funds can be spent on the purchase of land for farming, gardening or individual housing construction in the region.

The draft resolution is currently posted on the Open Electronic Region portal. The public discussion will last until September 6.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that in Russia it was proposed to sharply increase maternity leave to increase the birth rate. Currently, the parent receives an allowance of 40% of his average earnings. The payment should be increased to 60% after the birth of the second child and to 80% at the birth of the third, as well as to remove the upper limit of 69 thousand, according to the scientific journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
