The family of Russian Nikolai Svechnikov, who disappeared while swimming through the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, has hired lawyers and is preparing to sue the organizers of the competition. This was announced on September 1 by Svechnikov's mother.

"They [the organizers] were obliged to ensure security, so they must be held accountable," she said in an interview with RT.
