On September 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense spoke about the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation.

The ministry drew attention to the actions of the guard of junior Sergeant Vasily Zvonov, who, in the course of carrying out a combat mission to inflict fire damage on the enemy in one of the tactical areas, acted as part of the calculation of the 122-millimeter D-30 howitzer of his artillery division.

During combat work, the junior sergeant, using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), detected the approach of FPV drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and immediately notified the personnel and air surveillance posts. By order of the commander of the crew, Zvonov joined the gun's cover group and destroyed three FPV drones with accurate shots from the available small arms. After that, he took part in moving the howitzer and ammunition to a reserve position.

Thanks to Zvonov's precise actions, it was possible to save the lives of the personnel, the cannon, as well as destroy the AFU position and up to eight Ukrainian militants. This contributed to the weakening of the enemy's defenses and the advance of the Russian infantry to more advantageous positions.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry pointed to the actions of the guard of Corporal Rean Istomin, who, as part of the crew of the T-80BV tank, carried out a combat mission to destroy enemy positions in one of the tactical areas in the area of a special military operation.

During the battle, firing from closed positions, Istomin repeatedly demonstrated high accuracy of hits and effectiveness of actions. Despite intense artillery and mortar attacks from the enemy, Istomin continued to show accuracy in aiming the gun.

During another hit by a Ukrainian FPV drone on a tank, a guard corporal suffered a concussion and concussion, but continued to perform the task anyway. He fired accurate shots at the enemy's dugout, thereby forcing the Ukrainian militants to flee. Thanks to his selfless actions, an ammunition depot and a temporary deployment point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where there was a cluster of militants, were destroyed.
